Law Hired

Tax Law practice operations

Tax Law software built around the dates, records and paperwork of the work

Tax controversy is a calendar of statutes: when the IRS can assess, when a petition must be filed, when collection expires. The workspace holds notices, tolling and offers, and counts each period.

Dates it keeps for you

Each of these is counted from a date your team types, placed in the matter calendar, and confirmed by the responsible attorney.

01

Assessment statute

Counted from the filing date with extensions recorded.

02

Notice petition periods

A notice of deficiency starts the petition period.

03

Collection statute

Counted from assessment, with tolling events applied.

04

Refund timeliness

The claim for refund, the date the return was filed or tax paid, and the period in which the claim may still be made.

What the matter holds

Typed records, not a narrative note: each fact is entered once and every calculation, form and document reads from it.

01

Notices

Each IRS or state notice, its type, the amount asserted and the response date it starts, linked to the tax year.

02

Penalties

Each penalty asserted, the basis the agency gave, the amount and the abatement requested or granted.

03

Offers and instalments

A reasonable-collection-potential calculation is recorded.

04

Examinations

An audit, its scope, the information requests and the responses sent, with the examiner and the dates of contact.

Prepared for you

Forms are the agency’s own PDF, filled from the record. Documents are prepared from the same rows for the attorney to edit.

The workspace, step by step

The order a matter moves through the tax law workspace.

  1. Periods
  2. Notices
  3. Collection
  4. Refunds
  5. Penalties
  6. Offers
  7. Examinations

What it does not do

  • Tolling events are entered by the attorney; the platform applies them.
  • Rows are versioned.

How the legal content here is checked

This page describes the software; no attorney is named as its reviewer, so none is shown. Behind the tax law workspace, each deadline rule, limitation period and legal figure is stored with its citation and is recorded as verified only once a named attorney has confirmed it, with that attorney's name and the date; showing that record beside every rule on screen is still in progress. The coverage page counts how many are verified, by practice area and state.

What you can hold us to

Law Hired is practice software, not a law firm or legal-advice service

Every date and figure is counted from what the firm enters and verified by the responsible attorney

Law that changes is reference data with its citation, checked by an attorney before it is relied on

Availability is described separately from production verification

Questions firms ask

Does it track the collection statute?

Yes. The collection period is counted from the assessment date and tolled for the events recorded, for the attorney to confirm.

Does it calculate an offer?

It records a reasonable-collection-potential calculation from the financial rows.

Does it calendar petition periods?

Yes. A notice of deficiency starts the period to petition the Tax Court, counted from the date on the notice and calendared.

Does Law Hired give tax law legal advice?

No. Law Hired is practice software. It records, calculates and prepares from what the firm enters, and the responsible attorney verifies every date, figure and document before anyone relies on it.
