Law Hired

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: May 17, 2026  |  Law Hired

1. Overview

Aequitas Technologies LLC, operating as Law Hired ("Law Hired," "we," "us," or "our") operates a legal technology marketplace that connects clients seeking legal assistance with licensed attorneys. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all activity on our platform, including but not limited to our web application, mobile application, AI features, messaging system, community forum, and embeddable widget (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This AUP applies to all users — clients, lawyers, visitors, and any third parties who interact with the Platform in any capacity.

We reserve the right to take action against any use that, in our sole judgment, violates this policy, harms our users, or threatens the integrity of the Platform.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use the Platform solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with this AUP. Permitted uses include:

  • Searching for and connecting with licensed attorneys for legitimate legal matters.

  • Posting and responding to legal inquiries in good faith.

  • Using AI-assisted tools to draft, review, or summarize legal documents for personal or professional use within the scope of your engagement.

  • Managing case files, tasks, calendars, and communications through the Platform's built-in tools.

  • Participating in the community forum to share knowledge, ask general legal questions, and engage in professional discourse.

  • Using the embeddable widget to display law firm profiles or intake forms on authorized third-party websites.

  • Processing payments for legal services through the Stripe-powered payment system.

  • Accessing analytics, case data, and reporting features available to your account tier.

3. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on the Platform. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive. Law Hired reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any conduct violates this AUP.

3.1 Impersonation

You may not impersonate any person or entity, including other users, attorneys, Law Hired employees, or public figures. Creating accounts under false identities or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or organization is prohibited.

3.2 False Credentials

Attorneys may not misrepresent their bar admission status, jurisdictional licensing, areas of practice, years of experience, case results, certifications, or disciplinary history. Providing false or misleading credential information during registration or at any subsequent time is a material breach of this AUP and the Lawyer Terms Addendum.

3.3 Scraping and Automated Access

You may not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or any automated means to access, collect, or harvest data from the Platform without our prior written consent. This includes user profiles, contact information, case data, pricing information, and any other content displayed on or transmitted through the Platform.

3.4 Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL)

Non-lawyers may not use the Platform to provide legal advice, represent themselves as attorneys, or engage in any conduct that constitutes the unauthorized practice of law under applicable state or federal law. Law Hired's AI tools are informational aids and do not constitute legal advice; users may not represent AI-generated output as attorney-client legal counsel.

3.5 Harassment and Abuse

You may not engage in harassment, intimidation, threats, bullying, or abusive behavior toward any other user, attorney, Law Hired employee, or third party through any feature of the Platform, including messaging, the community forum, reviews, or case communications.

3.6 Fraud

You may not use the Platform to commit fraud, including but not limited to: submitting false legal matters, fabricating evidence or documents, misrepresenting the nature of a case to obtain reduced fees, making fraudulent payment disputes, or using stolen payment credentials.

3.7 Circumventing Subscription Fees or Plan Limits

Users may not take any action designed to circumvent, avoid, or reduce the subscription fees owed to Law Hired or the limits of their subscription plan. This includes sharing a single seat or account among lawyers who each require their own subscription, misrepresenting firm size to qualify for a lower-priced plan, or creating multiple accounts to evade plan limits. Law Hired does not charge a percentage fee on the legal fees you collect, so transacting with your own clients is not a violation of this section.

3.8 Harmful or Malicious AI Use

You may not use Law Hired's AI features to generate content that is false, defamatory, harassing, or designed to deceive. You may not attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, reverse-engineer, or extract training data from our AI systems. AI-generated output may not be submitted to courts, regulatory bodies, or opposing parties without attorney review and verification.

3.9 Discrimination

You may not use the Platform to discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, pregnancy, military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Attorneys may not decline to represent clients for discriminatory reasons in violation of applicable professional responsibility rules.

3.10 Court Fraud and Obstruction

You may not use the Platform to facilitate fraud upon a court, obstruct justice, fabricate or tamper with evidence, make false statements in legal proceedings, or engage in any conduct that violates applicable laws governing the administration of justice. Law Hired will cooperate fully with law enforcement and judicial authorities investigating such conduct.

4. Consequences of Violations

Law Hired takes violations of this AUP seriously. Depending on the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Issue a formal warning to the user via email or in-platform notification.

  • Temporarily suspend access to some or all features of the Platform pending investigation.

  • Permanently terminate the user's account and prohibit future registration.

  • Remove or restrict content that violates this AUP.

  • Withhold or reverse any pending payouts or payments associated with fraudulent activity.

  • Refer the matter to the applicable state bar association or attorney disciplinary authority where a licensed attorney is involved.

  • Report the conduct to law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or judicial authorities where required by law or where we determine reporting is appropriate to protect users or the public.

  • Pursue civil legal remedies, including injunctive relief and damages, for violations that cause harm to Law Hired or its users.

Law Hired is not obligated to provide advance notice before taking action for violations of this AUP, particularly where the conduct poses an immediate risk of harm.

5. Reporting Violations

If you observe conduct that you believe violates this Acceptable Use Policy, we encourage you to report it promptly. All reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team.

To report a violation, please contact us at legal@lawhired.com. Include as much detail as possible, including the user involved, the nature of the conduct, and any supporting documentation or screenshots.

Law Hired will not disclose the identity of reporters except as required by law. We do not guarantee any particular outcome in response to a report, but we will review all good-faith submissions.

6. Changes to This Policy

Law Hired reserves the right to update or modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the revised policy on our website with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, by sending notice via email or in-platform notification.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you must discontinue use of the Platform.
