Fees

Does Law Hired take a cut of legal fees?

No. Law Hired takes 0% of your billings, on every plan. Firms pay a flat subscription (Solo $59, Practice $189, Firm $449, Scale $999 a month) and nothing per matter, per lead or per payment. When a client pays by card, the processor charges its standard fee (Stripe, about 2.9% + 30¢), which Stripe keeps; Law Hired receives no part of it and no part of the legal fee.

  • No percentage of fees billed or collected, on any plan.

  • No charge per lead, per matter or per client.

  • The card processor keeps its own fee; Law Hired gets none of it.

Why it matters

A platform that takes a percentage of a lawyer’s fee is sharing that fee with a nonlawyer, which ABA Model Rule 5.4 generally forbids, and its revenue grows with the size of each client’s bill. A subscription does neither: it is a fixed cost for software and advertising, the kind Rule 7.2(b)(1) permits.

How payments move

When a client pays an invoice by card, the payment goes through Stripe and is paid out to the firm. No application fee or platform share is set on any payment; the processor’s standard fee is the only deduction, and Stripe keeps it. Firms that prefer LawPay can connect it instead.

What Law Hired does not do

It does not take a referral fee, split a fee between lawyers, or charge for a lead.
